my stepdad's doctor told him to get Lutein to help strengthen his eyesight. i've heard others speak highly of it, as well.

I work for a large group of ophthalmologists and have to say that those "exercises" are not widely accepted in the professional community and many regard these techniques as "hogwash". With that said... depending on your prescription.... exercising your eyes certainly won't hurt anything, and may decrease dependency in very very very low prescriptions and unique circumstances.

It was much easier to drop $2200 for 15 minutes of LASIK surgery that has given me 7 years of perfect vision. :)

Apparently, the muscles in my eyes are pretty strong - they are able to adjust my eyes by about a quarter of a diopter. The idea that eye exercises could strengthen the muscles enough to take my (approx) -4 diopter vision to normal seems, to be frank, implausible.

I looked at the web page, and the style it is written in seems to be very similar to a number of dodgy/scam sites I've seen. I'm not saying it's a scam - but the overwhelming similarity to other sites I've seen that are scams was enough to put me off investigating further or signing up.

Is it possible to get rid of glasses without surgery?

I did know someone with pretty bad vision (couldn't function w/out glasses at least) in the 1980's: he did eye exercises for about 8 months, for a huge portion of each day. I don't remember the number of hours he spent, but he had time as he wasn't fully employed at that time. Anyway, after 8 months he had nearly perfect vision. I fell out of touch, so I have no idea if that lasted for him. It was impressive at the time. Thinking about it now, he was in his early 20's and I wonder if youth helps, or if the effects would be as strong now.

My vision is
Right Eye: 0.5 Sph., 0.5 Cyl. 90 degrees.
Left Eye : 0.5 Sph.
Near Vision : Add 1.0
Will Laser correction be of some help? I think it would be much cheaper here in India (Rs. 20,000 or $ 300 approx).
Is it adviseable?
