I confess that I'm a big fan of DST, especially in the fall when we gain an hour and get to have a weekend that's an hour longer, not to mention getting an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night. I dislike, however, the "spring forward" nonsense in which we LOSE an hour in the spring.

I propose that from this moment on, we "fall back" twice a year, once in November and once in April, and be done with it.

Who's with me?

... and eventually day turns into night. ;o)

Furthermore, if we increased the frequency of backfalling and, say, Fell Back every two months (and who would turn down 60 free sleep minutes), over the course of 4 years, we will have gained an entire 24 hours. Then, we could do away with Leap Year.

(edit to confess) the idea is not mine. I shamelessly stole it from one of my favorite science blogs.

Why not just split the difference, put it permanently on the half hour and not change on a seasonal basis.
