All of a sudden, my photos have started opening up differently in CS3. Previously, they would open onto a background which I could stretch by dragging on the lower right corner, allowing me to fill the screen. Now, they are opening up onto a large, immoveable background. The problem with this is that when I try to open a second image to use as a layer, the same immoveable background appears with the second image, totally blocking all access to the original image. I no longer have a way to click back and forth between the two. Also, the ever-present red, yellow and green dots have disappeared from the upper left corner, so I can't use them to close or minimize. (I'm on a MacBook Pro). I've tried playing with Preference and Workspace options with no luck. Any suggestions?

Try hitting the "F" key to change from full frame. You might need to cycle through it a few times. See if that works.
