So, I'm sitting at a bar in the San Jose (California) airport tonight and the bartender tells me, "there's Steve Young over there", as he gestures out across the hallway over against the windows on the far side. Sure enough, he was sitting facing our way.
I wanted to whip out my 40D and my 70-300 and fire off a few shots. However, I didn't want to make a scene. I thought about what to do and spoke with my barstool neighbors about it. I decided to get off my stool and sit at a table just below me. I did just that and told the other guys (at the table) what I was doing.
I pulled out my lens and was about to pull out my camera (complete with vertical grip) when he stood up and walked out of my view. I put everything back and, wouldn't you know it?...he returned. I started to whip out my gear again and this time he picked up his bags and left. :-(
Oh well, I guess there is a reason why I not a paparatzi. LOL!
(fyi, Steve Young is the famous San Francisci ex-quarterback in American football)

Sucks to miss such a chance.
While we were having the St. Augustine GTG last spring, Lucy Liu was in the resturant we all chose for lunch. An outdoor place. 9 of us marched in with our huge cameras & lenses, chatting with each other about what we wanted to shoot next. Meanwhile she slipped out (RAN) behind us. LOL Waiter pointed it out after. :P

I was too worried about being obnoxious (long lens, giant camera [since it had a grip attached], airport, etc)
