O.K., I had to do it and I finally did. UPS just dropped off my new Canon 5D camera from Adorama. I couldn't pass up the deal and am completely jazzed beyond belief. It is an awesome camera to say the least and have wanted one ever since I held it in my hands at a local camera shot. It feels about the same in my hands as my 20D, but looking through the viewfinder with the 17-40mm makes everything seem so dang wide compared to the 20D...I am going to really enjoy this camera.

I went for the package deal/rebate with the PRIXMA Pro 9000 printer. I couldn't pass up the $500 rebate on the set...awesome printer too I might add, at least that is what I have read...

WOO HOO!!!

I have one of those; it's working very well for me. Enjoy!

Grats on your new Toy Michael!! :D I so wanted that one but didnt quite have enough and was going through serious withdrawals after drowning my last body :P so ended up with a 40D but love it anyway.. still dreaming of full frame though

Thanks Dave..I actually considered the 40D for the sensor cleaner, but ultimately chose the full frame over the sensor cleaner...that will probably be something on the new 5D when they revamp it. Would be a nice option...

IMO the "sensor cleaner" doesn't really do much at all. I'm just going from experience with my XTi and now the 40D. I went for the greater bit depth and 6.5fps just gave me warm fuzzies thinking about it :D and the fact I had originally thought my 17-40L was toast...

That is a good point. The bit depth would be sweet. In all honestly, I really don't need the frames per second, but wanted the full frame for my landscapes seeing as that is all I ever really do...that and I am learning macro as well...

I read your thread about you trying to kill your camera when you took it for a bath and felt so bad for you, but glad when at least the 17-40 made it out alive. I really like mine and it really never leaves my side. Quite an awesome lens and suits my purposes very well.

Are you sending your XTi in to get it fixed for a back up?

The XTi still works but only intermittently, I don't really have any intention on sending it in after sending the lens in and Canon saying that it was beyond repair...

If I had the extra cash I prob would have gone for the 5D but I am happy with the 40D now and going to concentrate on getting some good glass now as long as I dont try to drown, drop or destroy this one LOL

I have a friend at work here that has asked me to shoot her wedding, I told her in no way I would do it alone but more like a backup photog but need some faster glass (which I'll prob rent) and need to figure out how to find some people to shoot for some experience...

Anyway grats again on the new body, cant wait to see some new pics from it :)
