No one is discounting the validity of the competition, much less the intelligence or insight of the voters. People's opinions are important to them, and they want to share them. You've proven that over and over with your own posts. The overwhelming majority of responses to these threads are positive, either thanks from the photographers or thanks from the people who appreciated being poked into a second look at a photo they may have skipped over or spent less time with. There's nothing wrong with that, just like there's nothing wrong with skipping these threads if they don't interest you. I like threads pointing out worthwhile photos. Seeing and taking worthwhile photos is why I'm here.

We have FAVORITE list for all personal filings and ability to write comments....
Fellow DPC-Er's who are starting these threads have empty favorites lists. |
I find it odd to find comments like these from you pitsaman. You usually incourage discussions. Who the heck pissed in your cornflakes today???
I doubt that you checked favourites of everyone who posted in this thread. I am sure we all have our favourites.
If you disagree with threads like these, well who says you have to participate. In this case you only bring sour greapes. Your image was not mentioned so you are just jealous! I bet if your image came up for positive discussion, you wouldn't have said a word in negative tone. |

Ya know, discussions like this are always a bit of a catch 22, and tend to turn very ironic. All the responses to Kosta are about allowing discussion - and yet they all pretty much tell him to keep his opinion out of the discussion. Very interesting....
Although, on the flip side, I gotta agree - it does seem someone "pissed in your cornflakes today"! ;-) |

My 'favorite' list is very small, partly because I am not really sure how to add shots to it while I am voting on them? Is there a way to do that? Or do I have to wait until the voting is over and go back and find photos that I like?
(p.s. pitsaman-- true comments can be made in the challenges, but it is pretty time consuming to go thru every shot to see who has commented on which shots, zeus' listing them in forum allows to 'finding' his comments much easier. Just a thought)
