Not that I'm a fan of Britney or paparazzi, but the last few paragraphs of this article caught my eye:

On the ticket, it listed Ć¢€œstood in front of car with a cameraĆ¢€ as the reason. The ticket is not correctable and the fine is $80.

I heard the tickets varied and some included:
"Had smart-ass smirk on face" $65
"Gave me a look" $49
"Chewing gum while speaking" $125
"Needed a shave" $82

Whatchyou talkin bout, David??

On the topic - is there really a law down there against standing in front of your car with a camera? If so, I would've backed in. :P

If there is no such law, wouldn't this be an abuse of power - fire/sue/banish the cops or something? I can see cops stretching Disturbing the Peace, Obstruction of Justice, Interfering with a Police Officer, etc. but "Stood in front of car with a camera"??

It may correspond to obstructing traffic, which I think is a ticketable offense just about everywhere in the U.S., but yeah, that the cops were demanding IDs and looking for excuses to ticket was what caught my attention.

Yeah, that seems a little silly. In fact, too silly for me to believe. Maybe there was some other more formal charge checked and that was on the "additional info" line or something like that?

As for me, if anyone, for any reason, stood in front of my car and didn't let me leave, I'd be delighted to have a cop there to get them out of the way.
