Anyone ever raised the idea of an Annual DPC awards kind of thing, to recognize up coming talent, members who contribute a lot to the site, most improved individual etc.

It wouldn't have to be a big deal, just 5 or 6 categories to recognize different achievements etc.. Would be basically a poll or something.. for example, say in November nominations are taken, in December those nominated are shortlisted and people vote on those. It would be a great way to recognize valuable members on here who don't always make the front page.

Just an idea I thought I would throw into the mix - apologies if its been raised before.

Sounds like a big popularity contest.

They did have a few "Master's" challenges. The images were good, but overall it caused quite a stink.

Many of the categories would probably be subjective, which is fine. It would be nice to be able to have some stats for things like 'most improved'. If your profile (or a DPC photographer stats page) could display challenge averages by year (instead of having to manually do it yourself).

I'd get kick out of categories like all the ones you saw in old high school yearbooks...

class clown
most likely to succeed
most popular
etc.

AT least in the challenges (most of the time anyway), the images are anonymous.

Would there be Limos?

Ha! I just had a funny vision - a red carpet, velvet ropes and lots of people crowded against them, lots of gorgeous models, etc - but all the the shutter clicking photographers are inside the ropes on the red carpet shooting all the beautiful people behind the ropes!

...well I thought it was funny. ...will there be Limos?
