First, a hearty congrats to the high-scoring shots. I voted many of them 8-10 myself (including the winner, which is just an incredible shot).

That said, I'd like to suggest that the next macro challenge repeat the "no bugs or flowers" version to kick people into thinking about other subjects.

Bugs and flowers are outstanding macros subjects precisely because they offer whole new levels of detail and viewpoints when seen close up. But let's challenge ourselves. :)

Add my hearty agreement :)

How about rather than restricting content, restrict technique. All entries to be shot at F22 to F45+.

:-( restricts us point & shooters who don't yet have the fancy equipment.

restricting bugs and flowers will make it much more interesting and creative, great idea!

I second that emotion! good challenge idea.

one of the reasons i did not enter last macro challenge was that i knew the winners would be a bug or a flower macro and i did not want to shoot that.
so i am all for a macro without bug/flower.

Wouldn't it be a challenge to beat all those bugs and flowers?

Yeah next macro should just be of eyes......

There is a precedent.... Without Bugs or Flowers

(I would hope it would be without close-ups of eyes, too). ;-)

Ah, but the request wasn't in the thread title for people who don't every single word in every single post. ;-)

I'm for macros no matter what the limitations

this thing's heavy, but fun to use

I like that thing...how do you think it would work if you had "reflectors" of some sort in place of the actual flases on the sides?

Sort of a poor man's setup.
