I'll add her to the team for tonight's results.

Long story short, about 3 weeks ago my wife̢۪s oldest child moved from Idaho to my house so he could get a job. Yesterday my wife went to Idaho, and is coming back with one of those smelly, noisy things, what do they call them, oh yea, a baby, more specifically her grandchild. Before you say ooh or ahh, just let me say AHHHHHHHGGGGGGGG.
So I guess I going to have to enter more challenges, take walks to enter more challenges, taking long-long walks to enter more challengesâ€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦Ã¢€Â¦....help me.

So THAT'S where babies come from.... And I thought Idaho just did potatoes....

Good luck, dude. Just think of all the baby pictures you can enter now. Yeah, that's it!

Macro pictures are up in our Challenge Results Thread. Congrats to formerlee for his top 5, and patio127 for her personal best!

Edit: Oh yeah, levyj413 is in the spotlight for comments on this challenge.

Wow, my Macro shot dropped .14 after voting ended, though a bottom 4% result wasn't unexpected.

I'm glad I have a home! Thanks everyone.

Well then, I wondered if this would connect; I think it's rather "challenging" (horrible pun intended):

Rainbow
Votes: 25
Views: 36
Avg Vote: 4.6800
Comments: 0
Favorites: 0

It was at 4.35 at 20 votes, so some people woke up in a better mood than some others who voted before they went to bed. Best of luck to all who are in this one and who are finishing others!

Alan, most of all with the baby around, just breath. You'll be amazed how much it helps.

Charlene, congrats on finding a home here!

Best,

So.....I really need some honest feedback. I've flown a couple of portraits that I've taken by you guys in the past weeks or so, and I'm starting to get inquiries about doing some portraiture on a more serious level, i.e. for people who want these images for posterity. Most of the ones that I've done have had some light PP done, but nothing serious other than removing some errant intrusive piece of background as opposed to manipulation of the subject herself. This is a candid I caught of one of my daughter's cheerleading teammates at a friend's birthday party last night across a crowded room. Her mom about melted when I gave her a copy. I was pretty happy with it. I consider myself a beginner at this stuff, but I also do feel that I seem to have a knack for catching these shots. Do you guys think that I have a pretty decent shot at doing good work for these parents? I'd rather take a blow to the ego, perhaps a little deflation and some honest criticism than sign on to produce quality imagery and not be able to deliver as I should. PLEASE be frank, and if you don't feel comfortable with what you have on list, please PM me freely. Thanks for your consideration, and any who don't want to offer an opinion, that's okay as well.

Well Jeb ... I love the shot, the expression and and the candid look of it all ... but I can't help thinking that in Hollywood, she would have done something about the blemishes on her forehead ... as in more makeup or more photoshop.

BUT ... if they are natural freckles and a feature that she would like retained ... maybe just a TAD more brown rather than the reddish hue so that it is more obvious that they are freckles rather than acne?

Just my knee jerk opinion ...

P.S. ... I think the crop is PERFECT.

OK, where do I get my zero comments received during a challenge ribbon? I've worked hard for this one... LOL!

Congrats, Kelli! Go to my profile page and check the photo ID of the one there - it resides in my portfolio. :-)

Umm....yes, they are freckles.....I'm actually hoping they hang in there for her, as they are major cute. She's going to be a very attractive woman.......most of us at cheerleading agree that this shot is reminiscent of Jackie Kennedy.

If the glasses were not there, it'd be easier to tell that they are freckles, I think.

The image looks pretty decent printed out.

I think I have to calibrate my monitor........it doesn't seem to match what comes out of my printer.

But I'm also kind of afraid that my printer may be dying.
10/22/2007 08:44:58 AM · #1242
Jeb, I agree, at least for the monitor. Decrease the red!

WOW ... I feel so justified when I was feeling so nervous for being critical ...

While I am at it ... if you WANT me to be fussy ... just a TAD of mid range levels plus ?

I need some assistance. I am trying to join our messageboard, but the verification code is not being accepted. I think it is because there is a character that looks like a lowercase f, but I think it may be a special character.

any ideas?

PM skewsme or posthumous

Just so you know, it's not a private thread. Anyone can access it including the SC.
10/22/2007 02:21:32 PM · #1249
ok, thanks for the info.

Why would SC have access to something that is outside of DPC? I thought it was a private get together place for us TS'ers?

hmmm.

Because it would be all but impossible* for those excluded to believe that there were no shady mutterings about what my picture looks like and how it would be nice if you could give it and extra little vote - for the family.

*Impossible based on a properly jaded view of human nature.
