Posted some shots from a recent car show I attended... C&C welcome. I believe all of these were taken with the 11-22mm on my Olympus e500. These are only a few shots from about 3 hours of shooting around the show. Great day for it! Might hit another tomorrow morning if the weather permits.

Car Show

Thanks,
Mike

Your watermarks are too much.....too much of a distraction.

Gotta agree here.

They pretty much ruin the shots for me.

I can't get a feel for them at all......and I'm truly a car guy.

I can't relate to these with the monster watermark, sorry. They completely corrupt my viewing experience.

Piling on ... The watermarks spoil the otherwise fine images.

hmm...sorry guys. watermarks removed and gallery updated. Thanks for the feedback though.

Nice shots. I really like #5 and #10. But all are great.

Overall, pretty good. Thee comments are my OPINION.

Shots 909, 913, 921, and 933 all have too shallow of a DOF.....unless that was specifically the effect you were seeking. I think the shot down the side of the '57 would have een stellar with a deep DOF.

#921 is a good shot even with the particular DOF you have. I'm just partial to sharp images with cars.

The Stingray emblem's not bad, but I would have liked it better deeper, too.

The '59 is a gorgeous shot, but the colors look washed to me........the image really grabs, though.

I still see a watermark on the one full front #795, but it looks like an okay image.

#s 800 and 858 seem just fine.....I don't care for the reflection of the taillight in the fender of #800.

#s 916 and 858 are nigh onto perfect!

There's my $0.02 US......YMMV.

Oh, temper all this with my healthy dose of jealousy for missing what was obviously a terrific show on a spectacular day!

Hey thanks... Love to hear other opinions, as it helps me think a little differently. Too bad i got your comments after returning from today's show. Next time I attend (might not be until spring) i'll try shooting with more DOF to see how things compare.

Regarding your specific comments:

I was going for shallow DOF, and honestly didn't even consider going the other way. Will definitely give it a shot next time I have the opportunity.

Had another one of these shot at f/8. Just posted in the gallery. Take a look...

Processed again (don't mind the heads and poles..just did a quick edit and did not take the time to PS them out). New version is more of a Velvia finish...

I don't see it. You might need to just refresh the page in your browser.

This stingray was tough for me to shoot. So many curves on the car that I was finding it hard to compose something that really conveyed the shape of it in person.

I'm really pleased with the Oldsmobile (858). That was the shot as composed - no crop at all. Didn't think much of it when I first took it, but many seem to like it.

As for 916 (stingray from rear), my only issue with this is the open hood, but that's a problem with almost all of the cars at these shows. Otherwise, I like it...

The day was great for shooting...perfect light and the clouds were just right. At this morning's show there were no clouds and the sun was just in the wrong spot. Every shot I went for had my shadow in it. Just the way they had the cars facing I suppose...One side was drowning in shadows due to no direct light, and the other side put me in between the sun and the car. Not nearly as good this second time out, but the good thing is that these cars are all locals so i can go and find them again to re-take some of these.

Thanks again for the comments. As mentioned above, I posted a few others with some edits, so more comments always welcome.
