Bride is suing her florist for $400K for having the wrong color flowers.

Could have just as easily been the photographer.

400K! Insane. I hate to see the "sue over everything" metality out there. I could see discusing the issue, and the florist possibly having to give some restitution, but 400K?

I would love to see some photos of the flowers and a photo of what she asked for. I wonder if the suit is filed simply to make a point? I surely hope so, and not to actually get this kind of money out of the florist!

Just like the guy in D.C. with the pants, the plaintiff is a lawyer.

I'm just sayin'....

So what about a photographer suing a bride? I had a barter deal for a wedding back in July. The barter was I would shoot her very backwards day starting at 2pm ending at around 9pm. I stayed until almost 11pm. Since July I have this: www.kimberlynicholephotography.com and that is it. Maybe I should sue and sue for the residual income I have lost due to no website?

J/K It just isn't worth the hassle at this point.

The guy with the pants was a judge.

The bride was quoted as saying: "It was a lovely wedding, except...." She'd be a lost soul if I sat as judge on this one. The absolute max the florist should be liable for should be the value of the arrangements. The judge should remind her of the above statement and then dismiss the case. With prejudice.

Do you have anything in writing? If not your contract is worth the paper it was written on.

If I paid about $30K on the flowers, I'd expect the florist to get it right.

Of course, in America anyone can sue anyone.

Actually yes, I have my contract which stated she would create the page. And yes, she signed it.

Simple legal answer... hire someone to finish the website and bill her for the cost. You could probably do it yourself for minimal hassle in small claims court.

That's a ridiculous assertion - I have never heard of a photographer bringing the wrong colored flowers to a wedding.

and rossbilly, I thought it was funny.

The next wedding I am invited to, instead of a wedding gift, I will bring big buckets of that hearty gruel - enough to feed thousands of starving orphans. Any color they want. ...and hot enough to burn your crotch. Crap. I am probably being sued for this even as I am writing it.

I can imagine what she's gonna go after her groom for during their divorce trial.

I just wish the courts would make these abuses of the legal system a criminal offense. Purely insane.

Amd the lawyers that egg-on and take these trials should be hung for treason.

If you elect me Emperor, Leroy, I will make her eat the flowers and the Lawyers will be sent to work in camps with large hamster wheels for generating semi-clean power for all the cities in my empire. And the victims of the lawsuits will be awarded carbon credits.

And the sweat from the greasy lawyers can be refined into gasoline.

Make it so.

For his sake, I hope there was a pre-nup.

It's a webpage. She did her job. It may not be the webSITE you envisioned, but what does the contract state? How specific did you get on what you wanted?

I will photograph you wedding for $20. What a deal!
Oh, did I mention that i'll be there for an hour and take 4 shots and you get nothing unless you pay me more money. It's the details that matter.

We have a contract for a website. I finally did hear from her yesterday and she states that she's had some server issues last month. The details are spelled out in two contracts, one written by me, and one by her.

I am going to give it more time at this point. I know she's working on it, at least that is what she is telling me and I'm going to trust her at this point about it.

Two contracts? Lovely. All the definitions I could find state a 'website' is a 'collection of web pages' - so you're half way there :D

"Server issues"...I know a video guy that has more computer issues than everyone on DPC put together - PCs, so he want to Mac. Still 'having issues' like hard drive crashes. I think he's full of baloney. I hope you webperson does better.
