Hello everyone,
I have been asked to shoot the Southern Arkansas University 2007 Miss SAU Pageant in a few weeks. TOO excited, it should be a great venue to get my name out there. The beautiful Cindi Penrod gave me the idea of requesting a table to put out front for some prints and ordering information.
What I plan to do is use this table to my advantage as to get as much free advertisement out there as possible. I'm going to get a bunch of prints made from the rehearsal night and have them showcased, but I would also like to frame some of my work to push my portrait and event photography business. I mainly shoot portrait / portfolio work and events (pageants, concerts, weddings) and would like to showcase this work and some of my best work to get my name out there.
My request to anyone that has the time to do so is go through my portfolio and just pick some of your favorite shots that you feel would be great to put out there and represent my business. just post the thumbnail in here, and i will take all that are given, and get prints of a lot of them.
I also get a free one page advertisement in the program that is handed out to all the people who attend the pageant, this is what I came up with. I had to do it quick, so i hope it doesn't suck.
Thank you all so very much for your time, and I hope you have a great day!
Take care,
Jon Ed Rowe |

No phone number on your ad? And you have to look hard to find the URL...

"for all your photographic needs" is pretty generic. When we see a line like that in advertising it doesn't tell us much about the "why" you are better than the other guys. At least I'd leave it out - it just ads more visual clutter and doesn't strengthen your message at all.
Phone number might be nice - maybe a "freelance scheduling: (xxx) xxx-xxxx"? Just a thought.
I think the URL is fine - I didn't have to look that hard to find it, I just followed the text and there it was. |

It's kinda cluttered- less is more. How about just your logo and the prints part? I feel like the rest is just info they don't really need. Also, I think you should enlarge and add 'YOUR' to the to order prints part. If they don't see how it's important to them they might throw it away before they even look it over.
I hate ads but if it was just telling me where to get my prints, well that's a different story :0)
