Hey! I just figured it out that my Group Portrait "Bad Girls is the 6th highest placing shot with my new lens! Woo Hoo!!!

Deb, thanks for your concern.....
I am having a very difficult time as my health isn't the best at all, especially my eye sight. I feeling quite down, and finding it hard to cope at the moment.
I miss you all very much, and try to connect for a few minutes each day to read the forums. Haven't posted an image for four to five days. I really do miss it, but just don't have the energy for processing and uploading. I am very tired all the time, sleeping most of the day and therefore can;t sleep at night.
You really don't need to know all this, but sharing it with you to help you understand why I haven't been in touch with you all here at "Team Suck", as you all mean so much to me.
Thanks for your love and support as it means the world to me.

Lady Shez, we love to have you check in so we know how you are - thank you! It sounds as though you are a bit down - perhaps a trip to the portfolio of Art/Ken is in order? I know your problems with your eyesight are an issue - did you tell us that you'll have surgery later this year to help correct it a bit? If so, hang in there!
But there's always a shoulder here - if you need to come get stuff off your chest, please feel free. I know it's been a very trying year for you and Peter, but you've both stood up to so many obstacles so well! And picture that gorgeous grandbaby of yours in your mind - that should make you smile a little. :-) |

Shez, I know how hard it can be dealing just with life's day-to-day stresses, so I'm very impressed with what you and your husband manage to brush off to carry on. Keep trying to smile and know people care about you.

Yeah well.....you have a responsibility to check in and get annoyed at your "brothers and sisters" here who wanna know what you're up to and are gonna nag at you when you get down and demand to get you out of a funk.

I think I'm feeling a bit like Barbara ( BAMartin); I need to just read team suck threads. The rest of the forums, the bashing, the denigration of creativity in favor of form over substance (which, to me, brings photography back to its most base nature, and not in a good way), and generally one particular form that is valued, at that. Nasty comments, or those without thought or appreciation, on images. I've changed my profile given my mood, but it still doesn't capture it.
Yet, here in team suck, there is substance. There is kindness, searching, depth and caring. For art, for meaning, for people (as people). A genuine desire to share (really share, not sell), to improve. Where you can post if you're buying a house (congratulations, David, hope the move goes smoothly), if you're having a tough time (hang in there, Shez, you see light and life and beauty having lived a life that so many people could not have even lived as a mere existence), if you're sent away (we still think about you daily, Deb), if your body (and your doctors) surprise you -- twice (Kelli, we hope you're doing okay), if you're made king -- even acting king (how's that going, Jeffrey?). There are people so dedicated to the whole suck thing, and to all of us suckers; thanks for your ever-present presence RobM and Karen, and for leadership, a kind word, and inspiration, thanks to Don. Everyone here inspires me in some way or another, so I won't name you all, but I will say: I'm so glad I found my way here.
I feel a little better having reflected just a little bit on my involvement here. Maybe I'll edit up that macro shot after all. Someone here is bound to like it . . .

Be Happy, guys.
The sad and down mood was mine several months ago. But there are several out there that boosted me up quietly and privately, thanks to you (I won't embarass you by mentioning you by name.). I guess I just sorta adopted the like what I like idea and ignore the naysayers. You don't know how hard that was to do.
Thanks Suckers, keep that stiff upper lip and SMILE. We'll win them over, we've done a lot of that already.

OMG I cannot believe the rudeness that abounds in other parts of this site! A few weeks ago I vowed to never post other than in a TS thread, and now I remember why. I simply asked an honest question in an outside thread, and was ripped to shreds and made fun of within a few short minutes.
This entire site used to be a nice happy place where you could ask questions and learn. Now I question whether I even want to be part of the site at all.

| Thanks for those great words Rob. BTW - you left me a dead on (fantastic and I love it) comment on my flora entry. I think you're the only one who got it. I didn't think it would do great, but I thought it would do better than it has. I'm in with a very DPC friendly entry for macro. |

Hey everyone, finally back on track, and I have uploaded some overdue images into the "Slice of Life" side challenge..... 30 Day Slice of Life side challenge

Thanks for allowing me some time out, and I really missed you all.
I was dealing with a very bad health scare, but the test came back ok for mow, but still having trouble with my eyes. (Most of it is from all the crying, stress, and lack of sleep)
