This is a Photo of a Canoe that was Ripped in Half after it got caught in the Rapids, Fortunately no one was hurt.
I Entered One Half of the Boat into the Half Challenge and I was wondering if you think this view on the Left would have made more impact.
Lets Know your thoughts please.
Cheers.
Joe

I definately prefer the one on the right.

Having said that you could have increased the impact on that one by straightening your horizon (look at the angle of the pylons) and maybe bumping the saturation a little to make it jump out more.

Offer it up to the PPL folk and see what others could do with it :- )

I like the one on the left, I believe it gives more of an impression that the half of the canoe was thrown there against that tree holding it up. I didn't vote in the challenge myself, so I can't say for sure, but I have to agree that some boost in the saturation could have made it stick out more.

I think the one in the tree is more dramatic, but in both shots, I had to really look at it to realize that it was half a canoe (I don't live where people use canoes). Maybe choosing an an angle where the broken part of the canoe was in front would have worked better for me.

In both shots, the lighting was a bit flat, especially the outtake, where it looks like you used on camera fill flash. The flatness of the light probably hurt your score more than anything.
