We had a great time this morning. Beautiful weather for October, great morning and a wonderful breakfast. We met before dawn at ironworker's house and drove to the Horicon Marsh. In attendance were me, kkenison, fsteddy, elmakias, ironworker, bugzeye, and kirbic.

Here are a few pics:

It was fun and really great to meet other DPCers! I put some pictures up at //www.pbase.com/kkenison/horicon_marsh

I can't figure out how to get them to post here. It is a beautiful area, although I only got one blurry picture of a flying crane, and one close-up of the big yellow one.

Katherine, I don't think there's really a way to post thumbnails unless you have a portfolio here, e.g., you have to be a member.

The shots you linked in pbase are excellent. I especially like the one you got of the heron flying off with his lunch. Excellent grab!

It was a pleasure to meet you today!

I got some stuff processed, but not resized & uploaded. Darn football game intervened.
I'll get some posted tomorrow!

Colin, thanks so much for coordinating, and for your generous hospitality in the early AM!

Too damn bad about the Packers, eh?
10/08/2007 11:51:07 AM · #10
Yeah that game was bad, Too many stupid penalties that is ok. 4-1 is better than most expected at the start of season

The packers were not the only thing bad yesterday, my luck taking pictures was terrible, Not many good shots at all.

Where are the rest of the photos? I am waiting. :-)

In Ref to next GTG. When is the best time for the Eagles? I would like to start blocking out dates on the calander.

I have yet to get a photograph of an Eagle of any kind. So this is high on my list of photographic targets.

I believe we are leaning towards the western side of the state for the GTG. But I am going to keep this in mind for spring.

Ok, Adam and Fritz are holding out, Must have got a challenge entry shot Sunday.. ??

I had a shot ready for the challenge. however my wife had a tupperware party lastnight and in the process of helping her clean up afterwards. I totally forgot about it being Tuesday and missed the deadline by about an hour.
