In the strobist, he has an article about using the flash off-camera when in a hurry, like doing photojournalistic shots. What attachment is there to hook a hotshoe flash to a tripod/monopod screw? Does the flash cable have that built in or something?

If you have a wireless trigger attached to the flash, then it'll probably have the correct screw thread to allow you to attach it to a tripod screw. I can attach my flash to the trigger, and then attach the trigger to the tripod (it's the same thread size as a light stand)

Yup. The easiest way to go.

If you want to go cheaper, use these... They work quite good.
