I am helping someone with a d40x and I put my Nikon AF lenses on it and it won't autofocus. Could someone please explain. Her 18-55 autofocus lense works fine but my 60mm 2.8 won't autofocus. Please help thank you

The D40 and D40x don't have an autofocus motor built-in. The only Nikon lenses that will autofocus are the ones which have their own autofocus motors (i.e. the AF-S models)
