This afternoon, the bracket button on my D200 became stuck, and now the camera seems to be stuck in bracketing mode. I am unable to review images or see anything on the LCD screen, and the little screen on top of the camera shows the bracketing options and nothing else and won't go out of this. Has anyone had this problem, and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it (barred calling Nikon). I tried loosening the button physically, but it's definitely stuck.

Sorry Ursula but I don't have a clue. I assume you tried shutting down, removing battery, etc. although none of those make much sense with a physical problem such as the button being stuck.

Hope it magically fixes. Good luck.

Take battery out, seal in freezer baggie, and freeze for 30 mins. Won't hurt cam, and may allow button to be reset.

Try a piece of sticky tape over the button and see if that will pull it back up. Even then it may stick again soon. It may be beneath the actual physical button, where the contacts are. Good luck.

Now why didn't I think of that! Cold, shrink, release!

Thank you, guys! I got courageous, got out my knife (again) and pried it a bit more forcefully. The button is a bit messed up now, but everything works as normal now (except I won't be doing any bracketing again any time soon).

Sticky tape didn't work. I didn't get around to trying the freezing, but I will remember it for the future :)

Thanks again!
