Shot right at dark, after sunset. 1/2 sec with monopod. It is not often that this many of these birds gather in one bunch in this part of the country.

Here's my free study entry, a tribute to everyone who's been shooting for blur. Turns out it doesn't do well in score at DPC. Who'd have imagined? ;)
On the other hand, it's an Editor's Pick at betterphoto.com, which is a judged contest.

Hey, I think I can do something like that!
Maybe we should start a separate thread where we post our favorite blurry entries (by other people) from recently-completed challenges, along the line of some of the other "alternate ribbon" threads ... they could be called the "Blurrys" ...

Here's the non-grainy version. But along with that, I chose a slightly different crop:

[thumb]599085[/thumb] Egrets, panned.
[thumb]599084[/thumb] And a blurry sunset shot, due to dust from the dirt road just to the right of the sunset.
I was shooting the sunset, and the egrets started circling a pond just as I was about to pack up and go, so I shot a few pan shots of them.
It's starting to look like this thread is beginning to fade into a blurry memory. I will keep posting once in a while. Thanks all for the great fun and wonderful comments.
I have to do an extra week of work in the next 3 weeks in order to be free to go be on a chase team and pit crew for a pal of mine who is driving in the Baja 1,000 race mid Nov, so I will not have much free time for a while. Here's a link about the" baddest" auto race on the planet.
Official Baja 1,000 site
It's 1,300 miles across the Mexican desert wth a 56 hour time limit. Vid links on the site at the television button.
