It's the week-end so maybe we could all take a little time to check whether we have checked for new comments, and marked them as helpful (or not . . ) The quickest way is to go onto your profile page and on the top left there is a link marked 'comments received'
Comments:
Made: xxx
Helpful: xxx
Received: xxx
Helpful: xxx
Just click on the 'Received' number and you can see any and all comments you have received.
To many people this might seem obvious, but a lot of effort is made by many people on this site to encourage comments (and quite rightly), but many people (including ribbon winners) don't always bother to mark them as helpful - and so acknowledge that someone has taken time and effort to make a comment.
I have no issue with people choosing not to mark individual comments as helpful, and it's clearly not compulsary to mark any comment as helpful - but it is encouraging to people who have made the effort, and particularly those who are just setting off in their commenting careers.
How about it ?

| I'm such a comment whore that I'm constantly checking (and getting disappointed) but lately I've been slipping. Lo and behold, two new comments to happily mark as helpful! :) |

You and me both - but there are huge numbers of comments not marked as helpful - even when they say dangerous things like 'Brilliant.10'
