Okay, on the subject I'm only just playing with the words "Kiddie Candids". These probably look a little too posed to be Candids anyway!!!
All of the pictures were taken in studio. All of them using Studio lights, except #4 which was taken with the modeling light only.

:) I used to work at Kiddie Kandids.
Those are really cute. I like the horizontal one with the basket! |

It's good... what it lacks is lighting. Need to get some light down into her eyes to make her look alive. Try putting her up on a window sill and see what you get.

Yes. It's Cassie's cat. So it's just different lighting that is making her look different.

What's the secret to getting her to pose so nicely? I would kill to have my cat pose like that for me. |

You got me! She cooperated at first (I had her on a reflective surface because I thought it would be cool). But she quickly bored of that and just wanted to get down. Then, when I put the basket up there ... it was like "HEY, I'm home!" and she just sat there looking all pleased with herself. I was dumbfounded the way she just say there.
But really, the hard part isn't just getting her to stay still ... but to look in some "general direction" that the camera can see her eyes. Since I'm using studio lighting, there's only so many angles that I can shoot from that will look good. And she wasn't very cooperative when I tried calling her name or whistling.
Cats certainly have a mind of their own!
Reminds me of an old tagline: Dogs come when they're called. Cats have answering machines.

Oh ... one good thing: The studio lights did have the effect of "capturing her attention" for awhile. So in the shots where she is looking up .. that's what she is looking at, a big softbox up above on the right side of the camera.
