In reality, this would probably be a LOT of fun if you had the $. Imagine the photg/studio possibilities.

That would be so cool to own! If I won the lottery, I'd go for it. Amazing studio spaces. And when I got bored with photography, it would make a killer evil lair.

Amazing that they would sell such a property to anyone who could pay. Imagine what some terrorist group could do with that. |

How in the world does the guy who owns this use terms like "really neat" in his FAQ part? It seems legit as he knows an awful lot, but does this guy really strike you as someone with the wherewithall to have bought a missile base? |

Seems like the nuke is sold separately along with all the other equipment that was removed. |

Possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen on eBay. I have no doubt it's heinous and will probably end up being a scale model or something similar, or just the floorplans maybe. But having your own missile silo wouldn't be all bad- you would have the best evil hideout in the land.
Good find. |

I've seen a few documentaries about people living in decomissioned missile facilities. The problem is that they really are quite large and maintenance is not easy. |

I live in an area of NC where there are 10's of thousands of people who have more money than common sense. Most of these people would be able to use perfect grammar and spelling and I'm sure would greatly impress you. Most of these people won't have their money very long at their current burn rate. But..... I know two people in this area who are what I call original residents. Born and raised here. (starting to become a rare thing)
They doan speaka the language very well at all I tell ya dat. Their business acumen I've rarely seen the likes of. Lack of a classical education doesn't always mean lack of brain. ;)
Back to the topic:
I wonder how much earthquake activity you guys get in that area. Seller indicates it's dry, so I suspect not enough to compromise the structures yet. Keeping a healthy airflow through the buried structures might be expensive. If I were wealthy I'd love to play with the site. Wonder how far it is from Canon beach......

Crap, I was going to threaten the US with war and succeed Washington from the union. Then apply for foreign aid. I figure to buy every resident a DSLR and declare Washington the photographic country.. LOL

I'm with you Dr Achoo - when you look at the other items he's sold I was hoping that he was some seller for the military and would have all sorts of exciting things he has sold already . .
instead he just seems to have sold everyday household items - oh and a $1.5m missile base . . doesn't quite seem to stack up. |

Considering that this is all $1.5 mill will get you here, it's a great deal!

Ooooh. I have a couple whacked out neighbors, and I have to admit it would be cool to intimidate them with missile capabilities. Just the thought of blasting warning sirens at them every time they crank up their stinkin' boom box on their deck... man it would be fun to make 'em sweat a little :)

Unfortunately, I don't think the ICBMs are included. You could prolly get a washer and dryer though.

I just want to tour it. Owning it would be useless. Considering what you'd have to spend to make it use-able or live-able, it would never pay for itself or be re-sellable. Unless you just wanted to buy it to say you own it... |

Owning it would be awesome.
You could fix up a small part of it to live in then use the rest to generate income either as a museum, a storage facility, a B&B, a movie location, a party venue. Or just run around and re-live the cold war by playing endless games of Nuclear Armegeddon and Finger on the Button. |
