November 2,3 and 4 are good for me. That sucks that you have to work that weekend, Rex! I just checked out your profile and you have a lot of interesting work.

If I don't have a shoot to do, I would certainly consider coming up. I currently live in Hilton Head so its not too far away. I'll keep an eye on the dates.

the 2nd, 3rd and 4th look okay to me at the moment.
But Man Utd should be playing Arsenal on the morning of the 3rd, so it won't be a sunrise start for me that day!!!

OK, sounds like the 2nd, 3rd and 4th will work for many of us! I think we should set those as the dates for this GTG and start looking for places we want to go shoot as well as researching the local hotels.

I have a very busy two days planned, with about 4 hours to sleep (starting now!) between now and tomorrow night. After that, I should be able to look into hotels.

Any ideas about locations? I recommend Patriots point for one, and a walk around the downtown area for another. Other ideas?

A couple of additional ideas for photo locations:

-Magnolia Plantation Swamp Garden (always gators, egrets, herons, etc. especially this time of year)

-Shem Creek or the boats near Folly Beach

-Lighthouse at the end of Folly Beach

-Magnolia Cemetery (lots of excellent wrought iron, often wildlife)

I'd be happy to do a BBQ at my place on Sat night. My husband and I live on James Island, about 10 minutes from downtown Charleston. We have room for two people to stay over as well (two separate guest bedrooms). Send me a PM if you'd like to "reserve" one of the rooms. We have two cats and a dog so if you are allergic, this is probably not the option for you.

Ok, it's day one of my week off. I did a quick search for hotel in the area, and the lowest price I found was $65/night up here in Goose Creek. It's about 20 minutes from the downtown area, but it's right around the corner from my house. Rates go up as you approach the downtown area it seems. ($1127 for three nights at the Harbor View Inn, anyone?) :)

Before I go wild making plans for this, how many are we looking at here?

Sounds good to me but I'm slammed the rest of this year. If it could be after the first of the year, I would love to go!!!
