Very interesting...and ever so nice to see that the bear made it out OK.

i was expecting to see a dart gun somewhere in this story, glad they were able to do so without, I always hate seeing those video clips of bears falling out of trees or off light poles after they get hit with a dart.

thats what i get for not reading the captions.. at least it had a soft landing,

Aww, poor bear :)

About a month ago one went up a tree on the golf course a few blocks from our place. The fire dept went to the middle school and borrowed those hugely thick tumbling mats for the bear to fall on. He was taken to a new home, unharmed :)

A few years back I was on a fishing trip near James Bay, and some poor bear had climbed an electrical pole and unfortunately had managed to touch the wrong wires and ended up dead.

I seems that when the current raced through his body that his paws contracted around the wire and he was unable to let go.

It was a rather sad sight to see.
