Nice one MS. Adding a snipping too into Vista. Our pics just got a bit more insecure.
I must say the damn tool is incredibly convenient. Works well. Makes stealing images hidden under spaceball.gif a snap, even flash embedded images.
With that, I think we can forget having more discussions about how DPC should protect our images.
The simple fact is... if they are viewable, they are stealable.
Bigger copyright notices would be nice though ;-)

What's the snipping tool? Like a direct Print Screen?

Blaming Microsoft for putting it in the OS is kind of counterproductive though. The tool only saves one step (the cropping of a screen capture) so folks have been able to do it since about the dawn of time, or at least the dawn of GUIs.
Standalone utilities are also out there, so lack of presence in the OS is not a complete deterrent either.
Finally, if it were not possible at all, we'd all complain that legal uses of the tool have been eliminated because of the few that would use it illegally, and we would be right to complain.

It is pretty sweet isn't it... for the productive types it is a great feature, I use it all the time.
If MS is bad then Corel must be just as bad as PSP X2 (probably the others) has the ability to cap from within the program... Snake right into your editor w/o leaving the program very efficient. |
