I've been rooting around trying to id this insect. Haven't found it yet.
Any ideas? I had a link at one time where you could submit photos for identification...can't find that either. :( Thanks.

Looks like a dragonfly to me. Don't know what type tho, assuming there are more than one type.

It's body is real thick. Strong, too. It carried off the yellow jacket...which didn't stand a chance.

JA,

this kind lives in our world "Zotar III". I know them very well ... usualy eats horses, but this must be hungry one getting go with a bug :)

Now I must go back to my ship and invade other planets... did I say "invade", I mean drop by and say hello to them.

lol Oh my. I...must...go...put...the...horses...in...the...barn.

I'm pretty sure it's a robber fly, google that and compare with the variety of these flys.

Oh yeah, definitely one of them! Looks a lot less like a dragon fly in the second picture.

I'd say that's it! Robberfly (Diptera Asilidae)
The description of it's behavior fit it to the tee. Very aggressive.
