Does anyone know how to adjust the contrast on a Dell Inspiron 6000? I'm borrowing my friends computer and I can't edit my photos cause the color is all wonky.

Are you able to locate the buttons/knobs on the monitor?

Once you have done that, you might google "monitor gamma adjustment" and "monitor calibration".

It's a laptop, and there are no buttons for contrast. there's brightess, standby, hibernate, wireless, battery, crt/lcd, eject, mute, volume up/down etc...but no contrast. which is flippin idiotic, if you ask me.

You should still be able to use some software to adjust it. I think there is some freeware out there... google is your friend.

I do most of my work on a laptop. To change the contrast get to the desktop, right click, properties, settings, advanced, it's under advanced that I can change my gamma, brightness, and contrast. Hope that helps.

ETA: I use Windows XP

ETAA: In the advanced area there is a tab 'Color', that is where you adjust the brightness, gamma, and contrast.
