My Aunt asked me to restore a 25+ year old picture of my Grandmother. She then wanted a poem, that she provided, overlaid on top of the picture. She wanted it to be printable at 8"x10". I need to know which looks better in your opinion.
Original Picture ( 2.25" x 3.00")- Scanned at 300 dpi

Restored and up-sized (8"x12") keeping with aspect ratio.

Cropped to a 1.25:1 ratio at (8"x10)" 127 dpi
And poem added.

My Grandmother passed away September 16, 2006, just shy of her 99th birthday. This year she would of been 100. My aunt, her daughter, wanted me to restore the picture to look like the original because she loved the look my grandmother had on her face that day. It was taken approximately 25 years ago as she watched us grand children play around the pool.
Which Option do you like better?
Thanks in advance for any comments and opinions.

I like option 1 better...i would also maybe try making ur grandmother a little transparent or giving her some soft focus and then detailing the eyes and other parts that standout...just to make it a little dreamy..amazing that she lived for 99yrs |

Need to do a spell check on that poem, and change the word 'loose' to lose.

and "its" to "it's"
Edited to actually talk about the photo, too:
I know you're doing what your Aunt asked you to do, but are YOU happy with the writing across the face?
If it was up to me, I'd offer her another option to consider, because personally I don't care for having her face/head covered up by words.
Since the poem talks about a mirror, I'd like to see a frame around the portrait that would mimic a mirror, with the poem either next to it or underneath.

Thanks for pointing out the spelling and grammar mistakes. I was not even looking at the keyboard or screen when typing. I was looking at the poem she had written down. -my mistake, took care of it.
Thanks for everyones input. I have showed it to her and she said that was what she wanted.
