Yes, Glen, you said it just right. It's very much the way I've been feeling also these past weeks. |

i am bumping this to serve as a reminder for everyone. we do our best to keep DPC as user-friendly as possible, and that means that keeping the site organized is very important.
we do not "patrol" the galleries as a rule. however, if you see an image that is miscategorized particularly in the Nude gallery, please report the image to us so that appropriate action can be taken.
i am quoting part of the original post in this thread here.
thanks for keeping DPC fun.

I agree with Terry's post, however he states it is the members responsibility to ensure a photo is in the correct gallery. I have posted Nature photos in the Natur gallery and on a couple of occassions almost posted in Nude by mistake.
Why not make it a double check to enter a photo in the Nude Gallery? On first selection, have a pop-up box asking if you are sure this is the correct gallery? This is why there are non-nude photos in that gallery.
Just my humble opinion. |

Hence, I think, the need for another category. Not to single out strikeslip, but there's nothing like looking at "Nudes" and finding a close-up of a pooping horse. :-%

Now ya need to add a word filter on all forums that will not allow filthy words to be posted even if inside of an adult area. It's easy to slip a bad word when talking but to take the time to "swear" in typing is just plain vulgar, uneducated and not needed on a "family" or even an adult site like DPC. |

Sorry to dig up this old thread again, but I'd really like some SC clarification on one of the forum rules (#7)
If a shot is categorised in the 'nude' gallery, then any thumbnail on the site, including these posted in the forums, will appear as 'hidden due to content' to anyone with their Hide Adult Content flag turned on.
Therefore is it *also* required to include 'NSFW' text in the subject line of the thread containing nude thumbs? If this is a requirement, but the poster is not the original author of the thread, how do they get the subject line altered?
Thanks. |

Soooo disappointed ... Why doesn't this thread have any nude thumbnails ;) ? |

I'm not SC, but by reading that rule, I'd say that if you're not able to change the subject line then, to be respectful of other members, you should post a link as opposed to a thumbnail. It takes the same amount of time and nobody will be caught off-guard no matter what preferrences they have or have not checked. :) |

Try "Contact" under the "Help" menu and submit a ticket request, or perhaps simply respect the OP's desire that the thread be worksafe and start your own thread with a link to it in the original thread, or just post text-links to your images. |

Thanks for the response. So now I can't see the point of introducing the 'hidden due to content' thumbnails in the first place! Personally, I thought that was a far better solution than a link. A person is far more likely to click a link by mistake than click a thumbnail that very obviously says 'hidden due to content'.
And posting links instead of thumbs doesn't solve the problem of nude thumbs appearing on the DPC homepage from challenge winners.
I think a much simpler solution would be to ensure the person posting a nude thumb in any thread ensures it is categorised in the 'nude' gallery, and for people who don't want to view nude thumbs to have their 'Adult Content' filter set appropriately. Seems like a fair compromise.

I was looking for a photo to respond to a post in the Nude V challenge thread, and I have to say that the number of photos in the Nude gallery that are NOT properly categorized is amazingly high! I'd say at least 20% are tossed in this category for the increased number of views - they're certainly not nudes.
Looks like the past couple of years has seen an increase in this. If you go back far enough (around the time of this forum thread OP) there aren't nearly as many categorized incorrectly. |

It would be nice if there were more than one "NSFW" category. Perhaps the Nudity gallery and another category for possibly offensive photos (e.g., the infamous pooping horse).
