OK so here is the deal, I get up this morning after staying up late last night, took my kid to school and came back to play with my CS3 I upgraded to last night. I hit the power button on my desktop........nothing no fans no nothing, so I check a few things, grab a spare power supply(yes I keep them as I build pc's) check voltages, hook it in, nothing no fans no nothing, so I pull the MB out of the case, unhooked everything from it except one stick of memory, power switch, and power supply(CPU still intact) still nothing, wont fire the CPU fan off or anything. Powers and grounds are where they should be, I'm pretty sure my 6 month old MB died on me. Its a Winfast 6100K8MA with a socket 939 processor on it. So someone confirm for me, this should do a simple post boot out of the case with nothing attached but what I indicated right?

Call Adobe tech support and tell them upgrading to CS3 fried your mother board ;-)

I think you have it right, looks your 6 month old MB died.

It could also be your CPU. A dead CPU can manifest like this as well.

Video card is built in, has a GeForce 6100 onboard but I'm not trying to boot anything on the screen, just trying to even get the fans to spin.

Is there current actually reaching the motherboard? - I'd expect *something* to happen, e.g. if the CPU fan is powered of the +5v rail it should turn on. Do you have a meter you can use to check how far the current is getting?

Also, is there any sort of thermal fuse built into the MB that could have blown?

The problem is I am pretty sure that the MB will turn on the PS to fire off the fans and so forth. I have checked with a DVOM to verify what I have and dont have.
