We have a pretty good sized group for this. Anyone know where the other dave is ? Havent seen him around here for awhile.
If you are planning on attending, please PM me with your cell phone number. I will compile a list and distribute it to everyone later next week. I have a list around here someplace but still can not find it and incase anyone has changed numbers or something it is best to update the list anyway.

After work today I went around the Marsh on Hwy. 49 to scout ahead for next weekend. I have uploaded the wildlife highlights Color is coming on fast too. I only had my new zoom along so I didn't take much in landscape shots.

I saw occasional rain, high of 56. Bring a jacket, or sweatshirt, maybe both. If it rains we can do an auto tour both in the marsh itself, & around the marsh on the auto tour roads. My truck can fit 4 & gear. If my better half loans me her Pacifica we can get 6 & gear. The Mayville Limestone museum is open too.

Day
High: 78°F RealFeel®: 77°F
Intervals of clouds and sunshine with a shower possible; mild
Night
Low: 60°F RealFeel®: 57°F
Mostly cloudy and mild with a couple of showers
Sounds like it will be a late afternoon shower from the forecast up here. Lets hope so.

Yep, I just saw the same revised forecast with the emphasis on late showers. Looks like we'll likely be dry for the morning, but probably mostly cloudy. |

I don't want to sound like a party pooper. But 80 degrees with chance of thunderstorms is probably going to mean yellow/grey skys which will provide lousy contrast for the fall colors. I would rather have that 60 degrees they were predicting a few days ago. Hopefully the sky will be powder blue. I have my fingers crossed.

Still planning on it, rain or shine. We'll find *something* to shoot, and at very least we'll have a good time hanging out.
ETA: NOAA is now calling for 30% chance of showers after 1PM on Sunday. We may even see some sun. Fingers crossed.

Madison WKOWTV's new forecast for Sunday is:
"Partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a few late day showers & t-showers, especially NW."
The Clear Sky Clock also has an optimistic low cloud cover forecast going into early Sunday morning. It's looking better and better....

Looks like we may have a pretty large turnout for this one. I'll make up a big pot of coffee, anyone needing my cell #, for directions, etc. just private message me. This week I have seen an amazing amount of cranes up here. I have also spotted a number of hawks, & a couple golden eagles, along with pheasants, quail, & Bluejays.. I have also seen a couple of foxes, deer, & a coyote. We aren't at peak color, but still plenty to be seen, still pretty green for October though. I'll also show you a crane of a different variety that my crew has been assembling for the past 3 days.
We will be going to the Backstreet Cafe in Mayville for breakfast around 8ish. Look to be a great day weatherwise. See you Sunday morning.

Channel 27 weather update for Sunday as of Saturday AM: More clouds than sun, warm, & humid with just a couple of isolated showers or thundershowers. Winds: S 7-12.
The Clear Sky Clock shows beautifully clear skies in the early AM bracketing sunrise, with partly cloudy skies starting around 9-10 am. This is the CSC for Beaver Dam.
For those of us gathering at Colin's house between 5 and 5:30, look due east for the crescent moon, Venus, Saturn, and the star Regulus in a tight grouping in the predawn sky. Whadda morning!

I'm psyched! The weather is actually looking not bad at all, surely much better than the forecast earlier in the week!
ETA: Asked my wife if she wanted to get up @ 04:00 to join us, and I got this funny look... ;-)
