If I had one, I'd paint it olive drab and stencil russian letters on the side, and put a rifle scope on the top.

But people would probably complain to the FBI or homeland security if they saw that.

...or carry an external battery pack for power!

I didn't even see the camera the first time I looked at the lens photo! The camera totally puts it's size into perspective! Wow!

Now I know why photographers need assistants - in this case a large truck I would think.

Imagine trying to take candids with the thing - even far away from the subject you would look obvious - wonderful beast!

I heard they are selling cameras as an accessory to this lens.

The filters fit into a slot in the rear objective. This is SOP for huge telephotos.

The front lens cap can be replaced with a hub cap if you'd like to add a bit of bling. :-)

Takes standard 72mm filters which is nice. Others I've seen use gelatin filters and don't rotate.

Really interested in the price, not that I'd ever get one, wish they could narrow it down more than 10-20k. At least they throw in a matching 2x converter. If canon made this lens they would charge you extra for that, the lens hood, and the case.

I like this line from the text....

"Shooting distance and focal length can be viewed on the lens' LCD panel, which is an additional convenience for the photographer."

Im sorry but using that lense looks anything but convenient no matter how you slice it.

Some photographers I work for occasionally just bought this lens for a project they are doing. It IS a MONSTER! And it is NOT convenient, LOL!!

Seems like the ideal lenses to hang out at the end of runways and take snaps.... prob would not garner any attention :-)
