FYI...

Windows Beats Mac to New Adobe Elements

Adobe Monday announced Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 for Windows. The applications are available separately or in a bundle to enable users to edit their photos and create video projects.

True. Windows users are very accustomed to beta testing software for Microsoft.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...there are more Windows users than Mac users, so initially, Adobe is going where the money is. ;-)

The money surely isn't in Elements, the good guys have a Mac and use CS3.

Sure it is--if you are a forward thinker. In a business mindset, you'd want Windows users to get "hooked" on Elements, then when they "outgrow" it, they upgrade to the CS3.

I would bet that Elements sells quite a bit, so it may be a significant figure in Adobe's financials--else why would they keep developing it? (wait...I already answered that above). ;-)

Mostly likely, the Mac version is delayed for compatibility testing since Leopard is so close to release. About 9 days ago, Adobe said CS3 hadn't been fully tested with Leopard yet, so I'm sure that's what they're devoting resources to.
