This weekend is the Plano Balloon Festival. Gorgeous site, but not sure which lenses to use???? You can get super close shots, but don't know if the kit lens, my 28-105 or a 70-200 (300) would be best? hate to lug the entire backpack around all day as there are HERDS of folks that attend and it can get very cramped!

Any suggestions from you veterans would be much appreciated.

you'll probably be sorry if you don't take both 28-105 and the 70-200, that extra 95mm of reach can be useful.

If I had to choose 1, the 28-105 of course.

My favorites when I went last year were on my 10-20 though.

This was taken on a 75-300

I have shot a few balloon festivals, I would strongly suggest you take everything you have. They move slow so you have plenty of time to change lenses, filters etc.

Took this with a 70-200, but would recommend you take an extender and another lens as they are prone to moving. Finding an elevated spot is always nice, and morning and evening settings are usually the best.

If the day(s) in question is fairly windy, don't bother going as they will not launch the balloons as they are too difficult to land.

Hope this helps.
