A strange question, maybe...if I'm zooming out on a PowerShot S3 IS, what is the widest setting it will go to (35mm equiv)? Is this generally the same for all P&S cameras?

I'm still working on my Deja Vu entry...I know, I know, it's too late, but I'm obsessed, and now it's become a quixotic quest. I *will* duplicate the shot...

I was just looking at the S3 and I think it's 36mm (35mm equiv)

On the S3 IS it's 36 mm equivalent. There are cameras that make it down to 28 or even 25 mm, but most have 35 mm.

Some P&S cameras (including many of the Panasonic models) will go to 28mm equivalent, a few will go to 24mm, and there was a dual-lens Kodak camera that could shoot 17mm.
