How can I get a bit of a space between links on my profile page here at DPC? I have three links in my "Biography" section, but they come up so close together, and I'm trying to space them out a bit more, but I can't figure out how to do that.

you can type the characters "& n b s p" (without the quote marks or the spaces between) as often as you need to to get the desired gap. "nbsp" stands for non-breaking space.

R.

I have used the feature      4x between "feature" and "4x"

Odd, it's not working here...

It's showing up as the typed characters though, not as a space. ???

Right. Nevertheless it's HTML code. Don't know why it doesn't work here; we use it all the time in the poetry forums to indent lines.

I don't think it full HTML that we have access to in our portfolio area, more like bb code...i think. But here is how you do it. Use a spacer jpg (see my profile).

In between your links do the following.
1. right after your first link click on the button and use this URL //images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/22970/thumb/589097.jpg
2. Post your second link and do the same.
3. Repeat steps 1&2 as many times as needed.

This is what the spacer jpg looks like <---hard to see here, but it will NOT be visible on your profile page.

Thank you, Scott. That did it!
I created my own spacer gif, and it works perfectly.

The use of {pre}{/pre} tags will preserve spacing for you (replace the { } with [ ] ).

1 (5 spaces)
2 (5 spaces)
3 (5 spaces)

Hmmm. Yeah, that adds spaces, but it also moves the next link to a new line, which I don't want.

What does "pre" stand for?

Ah cool. To see what the pre tags look like, hit "quote" on this post and they will be visible to you. Great solution, Glad!

"Preserve", I think. I've tried placing the pre tag in various spots...you're right it does add a new line at the beginning. There may be other solutions - I just happened to remember this one. :)

ETA - Thanks Robert. :-)

Preserve, eh? Sounds like you're making jam or something :) Thanks!

You're welcome. Basically it keeps the extra white space from being wiped out.
