I know it's been done before but I can't find it. Can anyone beat this spread?

I'd say your image appeals to the few, not the many, and this is, possibly, not a bad indication of quality.

I can't top that, but this is the closest



Avg (all users): 5.7254
Avg (commenters): 8.0000
Avg (camera): 5.7594
Avg (no camera): 4.6667

The thing that stood out on this one was the difference between the non-camera voters and the others.

It was this challenge that led to the discovery of some no camera ghost accounts that were thrown out. I wondered if they caught them all.

Then I wonder what this says about me? 5 of my 8 entries are the reverse (higher scores from "no camera") lol

Avg (camera): 5.8025
Avg (no camera): 6.5000

and

Avg (camera): 5.0714
Avg (no camera): 5.6250

Even my high score 5th place entry (appropriately enough, in Upside Down, hmmm) -

Avg (camera): 6.6468
Avg (no camera): 6.8333

This was a bit close, but still upside down

Avg (camera): 5.9406
Avg (no camera): 6.1111

But worst of all was my very first entry -

Avg (camera): 4.7880
Avg (no camera): 6.4000

I'm sorry but that whole story I just read, does not speak in the shot. That is why I gave it a 5. It IS a very special shot, but not suitable for the challenge you entered it in.

I appreciate the feedback. I think part of the reason for my post was to point out it was quite obvious those who gave it 2s and 3s (and there were more than a few) didn't offer any particular reason for those scores by way of a comment. I will also add that "impressionism" isn't something I've studied extensively. Or at all if truth be told. So I figured it a) probably didn't fit the challenge for most (and am not at all offended by a DNMC comment) and b) simply didn't appeal to many.

It may also be that people are simple more likely to comment on photos they like.

I've left a few DNMC comments this week, but generally speaking, I avoid leaving them. I figure the recipient will hear it from others and won't appreciate hearing it over and over again. The photographer either already knows it doesn't meet the challenge, or will disagree with that assessment.

That's probably the highest average from commenters I've ever seen - congrats!
