Hello,

Having problems printing, using an Epson 1280. All my images that I print end up with a bluish hue to them. I am not a printer, cannot stand this part of the process. The images look great on the mac but the printer does not match color wise. Where do I start?

Thanks
jeff

let photoshop handle the color management, not the printer.

this can be done via the printer set up dialog most likely - at least on the two epson printers i own.

also make sure you are selecting the paper setting that matches the paper loaded in the printer.

Wellllll... you could be nearly out of ink... and your monitor's calibration could be way off the mark... that's where I'd start anyway.

I can't imagine my monitor being that far off, I am thinking it is a printer issue. I was running low on ink and thought that was it, I replaced the cartridge, but it is still off.

Thanks for the link, thats a good place to start.....

thanks

Is it possible to print a 4x6 without a border? I cannot find a setting in the printer setup and it will always leaves 1/8th of an inch on the top and bottom of the paper.....so frustrating!!!!

Wher4e to start? Calibrate your monitor! That is the first and most critical step in any accurate printing workflow. Without it, you will never know what the source of the mismatch is. Best to use a hardware solution, such as a Spyder. Otherwise, there are software methods that will get you close, but the hardware is best. After calibrating your monitor, try printing with the software of your choice. I prefer QImage for many reasons. whatever you use for printing, make sure that you chose the paper profile that matches the paper you are using. In the Espon print setup make sure that you turn color management OFF. Let whatever program you use for printing manage the profile. Print an image, and see how it looks. If it is way off you more than likely are double profiling or not using one at all. Double check that you are only letting one program (either the printer or the print program - not both or neither) set the profile. If that is set right, most likely your colors will be fairly close to matching the calibrated monitor image.

For the best results, you can get a custom printing profile made for a specific paper/ink combo. This will always get you a more accurate result. I use Cathy's Profiles for mine.

Jeeez I cannot for the life of me figure out how to print full 4x6 images with this Epson 1280. I have tried every setting available, checked the manual and it still insists on printing a border. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks

I can't help with the color issue but there should be an option in your print wizard that allows you to print borderless.

If you click on the printing preferences button, then under paper options there's a box to check for Borderless printing. Of course, I'm using a PC so this is probably totally different for a Mac.
Looks like this

I fought with my Epson for months on the border issue and could never get it to print a 4 x 6 without a border.
