Hi there. Have any of you used a Flash Extender for nature or indoor sports work? something like this?
Do they work? Good and bad points to them?

 ellamay had a better beamer she used in Kenya last year with some pretty amazing results.
Not used it myself, but I've seen good results from others. |

Not sure it's really made for sports work. From what I understand, it's more helpful for adding catch lights to the eyes of wildlife than illuminating the subject, but I could definitely be wrong.

Might provide just enough fill to beat back some mid-day shadows at 300mm, but I'm thinking any farther than about 20-30 yards and it'll be pretty useless. Not speaking from experience at all here.
