I'm new here and very exciting to be in the company of such talent. I'm humbled by the photos I've seen here and determined to take advantage of such a wonderful asset.

anyhoo... I have been fortunate to have landed a job at the local university that gives me access to a camera, printer, and scanner. Also recently have enrolled in the NYIP.

My question is this:

Shortly after getting the camera, I programmed it to shoot duplicate photos in JPG and RAW. And just recently switched to RAW solely so as to save a little space. My problem is that I can't view my RAW photos other than to open them up individually. Takes a really long time. Before, with the JPGs, I could view them as a slideshow. I have CS3... there HAS to be a way to view my RAW photo quicker than how I'm doing it now. The little thumbnail is OK in Bridge, but I want to see them bigger.

Help me!!

...oh, and thanks in advance for what I am sure to be a great place to learn.

customize your view in Bridge so you can see a large preview of each thumbnail when you click on each thumbnail

I use NikonView for thumb browsing. You can't edit D80 RAW files there, but you can choose to edit in other programs directly from it.

With Windows Vista, Microsoft has put in the "hooks" to support any RAW format within File Explorer. Instaed of us creating the software to view these files, we now allow any vendor to create a "driver", if you will, to view their formats. This allows Vista to seamlessly view today's formats, as well as the formats of tomorrow.

Vista today now seamlessly supports more formats than XP did.
