Our next photo chief will spend about half of his or her time shooting and the other half coordinating photo assignments, editing and managing our full-time photographers and stringers. With a combined circulation of more than 230,000, The News prides itself on quality photography. Our photographers are routinely recognized for their work in state and national competitions. Applicants must possess strong technical and editing skills and be able to contribute to a story with descriptive photos and cutlines. Must be organized and detail-oriented. We prefer a candidate with some management experience, but will consider a shooter looking to move into management. A degree in photojournalism or a related field is preferred.
