Shooting a wedding - in JPG!

I attended a wedding a year or so ago as a "guest with a camera" (Commonly known as "Uncle Bob" I believe!).
The Pro's shots were not very good at all. After seeing my shots, the couple stated their dis-satisfaction and negotiated a large proportion of their money back.

I imagine this is actualy quite common?

Jasmine Star shoots jpg too, and she rocks!!

P.S.--If you go to her site, click on the blog section and go to her entry for 8-30-07. She talks about the issue quite a bit.

[quote=littlegett] Best advice is stay as far out of the middle of this issue, as well as farther away from either side.

I agree with this statement 100%. I have found out (the hard way), that dealing or even helping with family with any business or financial matters is a strict no-no. Stay away. Far away!!

So if anyone is interested in the final outcome, paid photog refunded them 25% of the total (shoulda been 50% but she didn't push). He still doesn't understand what they don't like about the pics, but I don't understand how he didn't know he could take them in RAW and b/w jpg on his camera. He works at a camera store FCOL!

Anyways, that's what ended up happening. I managed to stay out of it on both sides, and even get to pay off some of my addiction from the summer!
