Hey -- I was just thinking today of asking you about how the construction is going at the new Academy of Sciences? I was thinking of shooting some contruction/architecture if there's anything interesting going on. |
The new Academy of Science should be up and running November 2008. Not too much of photographic interest from the front or back currently. Maybe a couple of abstracts with a longer lense but most of the areas that you can see without using a hardhat is pile up with construction supplies.
There was a Discovery channel program a couple months ago that showed the construction and installing of the large aquarium glass.
I heard that the temporary location downtown may be closing in January to prepare for relocating back to the Golden Gate Park location.
I will probably try to get a transfer from the Tea Garden to the Academy of Science when it reopens :) |

I would love to try a mini "Night" gtg as I hardly shoot in the evening and it would be safer to shoot with others. |
