buy something when its first released!!
iphone
I guess apple just doesn't care. I would have thought the price would have dropped in about a year. Not this soon.
Edit: Price dropped from 599.00 to 399.00

Fact is, Apple is subject to the market as much as any company. They obviously overpriced it initially and had to reduce price to generate sales. The fact that they are offering early-adopters a partial refund makes a very positive statement for the way they are run. |

^ agreed. And I've seen other more pedestrian cell phones come on the market going for $299 or $199 and within a couple of months drop in half ... and be free by the end of a year (never happen with the iPhone). |

I would try to agree with that, but then it would be hypocritical as I'm already digging for extra change behind the couch in hopes of obtaining the upcoming D300... :) |

I guess the die hard apple people were the only ones buying it for 599?

Ha, you're right! My bad. :-)
I just saw a bunch of people complaining about how Apple is unfair. To me, they seem to be doing the right thing. Even when we ALL know that technology always starts out high and then drops in price. Apple could just leave it be. I'm impressed.

Good PR move...to no real loss for Apple -- since the 'refund' is $100 Apple Store credit. :-)
