		| | could someone kindly post a few full-res picts taken with the Canon EF 28-105 3.5-4.5 USM. Im particularly concerned with things like people's eyes and macros.
I just bought this lens and it seems very soft. When comparing the photos I took with my 350D kit lens (18-55) to me the kit lens is sharper with similar ISO etc settings.

		| | might be the simple fact that the new lens is a lot heavier than the kit lens, therefore you aren't as steady holding it at a given shutter speed as you are with the light weight kit lens.

		| | I know "IT" is a great lens.
What I am wondering is if my particular lens is operating at 100%.

Granted the chances of user error are by far greater than the possibility of a defective lens.

Thanks for the suggestion about the weight. Perhaps that is indeed the issue.

But would someone mind taking a full frame with this lens of human eyes. Im curious as to whether its possible the lens is not focusing properly.

 Thanks in advance.

		| | Must just be out of adjustment or something, mine's great. Close to 70-200 4.0L sharpness, at least in the center, but it does distort a little more than I think it should on the wide end, and it's not as sharp as a prime at the corners. |

		| | I did some research on other forums, then tested myself and found this lens does indeed sharpen up around 5.6 and 6.3. That is disappointing as I was expecting to use this with a moderate bokeh.
I wasn̢۪t expecting results as with my 50 prime 1.8 but I had hoped for a little better results.

Well, I can̢۪t be too disappointed for spending less than 200 on a lens that no doubt will produce outstanding results.
 Thanks for everyone̢۪s help.
