Would appreciate hearing comments about the quality of the PAPER that Smugmug uses for their prints. Specifically, what is your opinion of the paper's thickness? Any issues with sturdiness / appearance?

Our first orders came to the house recently, and I have reservations... customers haven't said anything, but it just feels so LIGHT!!!!!

I like their quality. Have never had a customer comment about the thickness and it hasn't bothered me -- more importantly is what the prints LOOK like - and they look great. Never had a color issue and I have printed images with them as large as 20X30 without resolution issues. Personally, I'm happy.

Thanks Cindi!

Guess I've just been spoiled using the heavier papers at home...

I love their prints. I believe that DPC Prints uses the same company.

When uploading pictures to smugmug are you uploading a full printable image or one reduced in size for speed?

I load full size for ease of printing, but only show clients medium size, for quick loading... smugmug does all of the resizing.

Yeah, when you set up a gallery you decide what size images it will show. You can also decide whether or not the client can see original size. You don't need to make seperate files for thumbnails, mediums, etc.

With the pro pkg, I use proof delay, upload 1680 on the long side at 5 or 6 quality so that customers can order anything up to poster size. Then when they order, I replace those with a full sized file saved at 10 of 12 quality with great results.

I keep protection on, larges on, originals off, external links disabled, photo rank off, camera info off (for a cleaner look)
