My likes to write and she has seen me using dpc many times before. She was wondering if there were any sites that are like dpc but for writing, you know...weekly or bi-weekly challenges with critiques and good forums. I've done a little looking around but couldn't find anything too great. Maybe I'm just too busy comparing the sites that I do find to the all around goodness of dpc so as to get let down by them.
Anyways...if you guys know of anything cool out there on this huge electronic web of ours, let me know.

Depending what she writes, I can recommend some poetry websites. I know nothing about prose workshops though.

I found a couple of cool writing sites for her... I think one of them has a weekly poetry competition and the other one has several plain 'ol writing challenges going on at any one time.
I think it would be cool to have a sort of dpc clone, except for writing. I don't personally write myself...but judging by how useful dpc is as far as learning tools go, I could see how writers could benefit from a site like this. You could even keep the weekly challenges and perhaps the membership qualities....maybe "advanced" editing on a story could involve having a professional writer critique it beforehand...or not. :P

That would be interesting, writing is one of my other numerous hobby's. I would love to give a writing competition site a look at. |
