Just because Gore's a shyster doesn't mean that global warming isn't happening. :)

I work in the environmental sciences, though not directly in climate change research. I do work with climate researchers. I can tell you that there is, in fact a consensus within the scientific community.

I won't bother with debunking; many people have done it and it has had what effect it is going to. There is not a single denialist assertion that has not been fully answered.

I will, however, say that those of us in the scientific community have pretty much moved on from "is it happening" to "what effects will it have." So go ahead and deny all you want; we'll keep working to save your asses (and those of your grandchildren) anyway.

So, let me get this right..... if it's on Wiki it's got your attention and it's probably true. And.... if you can't Google it, it doesn't exist? Interesting.

If you're asserting that he said it, I suggest you find evidence of it other than this thread, which is now the #1 google return for "gore 2015". The next two pages reveal nothing of relevance. The assertion of the OP is vapor and nothing more.

I never try to refute global warming, whatever the hell the current definition of that is. I do have my doubts about the human part of it. You state 90 percent. Well even if I accept that figure as correct, it's a good 10 percent chance the something other than human activity has much more effect over the climate. The eruption of Mt. Pinatubo a number of years ago had a huge effect on our climate for several years. One volcano. I think there are natural cycles our climate moves through. When the water in coastal areas gets deep enough, we move to survive. Life is a struggle. Most of us in the West are not too familiar with this struggle because we've lost our edge. We've lived on our successes for far too long. One day in the not to far future we'll get hungry. Then most of us will die. Maybe all of us. Mother nature makes the rules. Nothing says that mankind has to survive. Nothing says we won't. But if we continue languishing in this distant backwater called Earth and neglect our responsibility to move out into the rest of the Universe.... well, the first option looks pretty sure to me. Wow, some ideas for a challenge in there maybe. Expert editing, of course!

Note: I am NOT trying to use that as an example that GW is occurring. That probably has more to do with urbanization than climate change.

Nobody has been able to provide a link to the quote. Wouldn't it be quite simple to do so and put to rest the OP's assertion? In fact we did find the episode on YouTube, but the quote had been mysteriously edited. So now not only can we not find a link to the quote, the only source we did find refuted it.

Basically, if you believe Gore said such a thing at this point you are quite foolish. I mean, Miss South Carolina can't utter a foolish statement without it being broadcast on radio, TV, YouTube and the news. She's already the #1 hit for "americans map miss". I will reiterate that if Al Gore said something so completely charged, it would have been headline news.

There doesn't seem to be agreement on the cause of global warming. I also believe the sun is responsible. A lot of scientist believe it's the sun doing it.
