Oh! Maybe I have the same issue, and THAT'S why I keep getting comments like "this shot is too dark."? ;)

not to rain on anyone's parade (and I apologize if I sound like a pretentious ass but i'm risking it here), but I currently have ribbons with a D200, D70, and a Nikon Coolpix5700. Never managed a ribbon with the Canon 300d, but I did get a 7+ score with it. Then again, I only owned it for a month; only had time for 5 entries.
gear makes a difference to a point. once you get into the caliber of camera made by Canon and Nikon, it don't mean a thing (do wah do wah do wah). I'd take ANY dSLR made by either manufacturer (along with some decent glass) and just be pleased as punch to make some purdy pitchers with it. |

If your talent were an accessory to the D40, trust me...I think we'd all order it in a heart beat...:-) |

Well, as my dancing bananas are currently all wallflowers, I guess I have to find my inspiration somewhere among the outrageous...

The picture comes from the talent behind the camera first and foremost.

I rest my case.
Oh - never mind - it IS a Canon after all. :P

To be fair you may want to include a few things like, oh I dunno, release date, and consequentially, number of people on this site who own said equipment?
Canon EOS-350D Rebel XT:
Released: March 15 2005
Owners: 4218
Nikon D40:
Released: December 1 2006
Owners: 159
That being said, even though I'm new, don't count me out. I'm gonna try for all I'm worth to be a contender in this little race of ours. |
